Made Deerskin Breechcloths
For
centuries and in the warmer climates Native American males
wore what was called Breechcloths. A breechcloth is basically
a strip of leather or other material about 54"long x
9" wide that is then tied around the waist with a leather
belt. The breechcloth is worn between the legs and tucked
over a belt, so that the flaps fall down in front and behind.
The strip that goes between the legs is tappeded while the
flaps that hang over a belt are wider. Sometimes they are
called a breechclout or loincloth, or just a flap. Various
styles are different from tribe to tribe. Some are short while
others are longer coming down past the knees.

They
are sometimes decorated and embellished with Native American
designs. Native Americans still wear breechcloths today. Sometimes
they will wear them with leggings and over pants which has
become part of their overall tradtional dress. You will often
see Native Americans wearing breechcloths during Native American
authentic dances. There are many different designs.
These
hand made deerskin breechcloths are stitched around the edges.
You can obtain a hand made two-tone Thunderbird Design sketched
into the deerskin leather with fringe on the bottom or you
can obtain the style that has the ruff cut bottom for even
a better tribal primitive look. You can also obtain the hand
made deerskin breech cloth with a fringed bottom in either
a tan or darker brown. Below you will find a review of handmae
