Native
American Zuni Genuine TURQUOISE Sterling SILVER Cuff Bracelet by
Calavaza
Dress yourself with a hand made work of art. This one was made by
famed Zuni master artist Effie Calavaza. Effie made this bracelet
out of shimmering Sterling Silver. Plus, she used genuine nuggets
of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise (the Tiffany of Turquoise) to add the
color of the sky to this one. The Zuni use Turquoise in their work
to honor the Father Sky. This bracelet also has a Sterling Silver
serpent figure and Sterling Silver leaf figures. This bracelet is
3/4" wide. It'll fit a 6" to a 7" wrist. It is signed
Effie C., ZUNI.
Calavaza - Cadillac Jewelry of Zuni. The crafting of Zuni Indian
jewelry is an art which demands expertise, patience and exactness.
The channel inlay and snake design work of Effie Calavaza is among
the best known of all Zuni jewelry. For nearly a half century, Effie
has been perfecting her jewelry making technique. Together with
her three daughters (Georgiana, Gloria Jean and Susie) and son Randy,
Effie creates pieces of jewelry widely acclaimed for its exactness
of detail. All of the pieces crafted by the Calavaza family are
stamped in the same manner: Effie C. Zuni. This is your assurance
that the jewelry you are purchasing has been crafted in an expert
fashion, using only the finest materials available. Most of the
pieces produced by the Calavaza family - bolos, buckles, watch bracelets,
pinky rings - are made using the traditional sand-cast technique.

and some use the serpent as a totem for healing stomach and kidney
ailments, while some tribes believed that to ensure success on the
battlefield and in the hunt they would cover their arrows with rattlesnake
skins to give their weapons the ability to strike with snakelike
swiftness.
We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art.
