Handmade Buckskin Plains
Indian BOW & QUIVER
Just a little over 100 years ago there lived a proud people whose horsemanship,
bravery, cunning leadership and colorful regalia captured the imagination
of the world. They lived in harmony with nature. They believed in spiritual
forces of the universe as revealed in mystical visions. The fringe on
the bow cover and arrow quiver moved in the wind and helped push the warrior
along with the force of the wind. Its decorative touches was usually contributed
by a loving wife or relative. "Non Indian made" A reproduced
artifact from yester year.
This bow, quiver and arrows were hand made for decorative purposes. The
beautiful dark buckskin quiver with lengthy fringe, trimmed with elk horn
buttons, and medicine wheel is a striking cover for the 24" bone
arrow heads. The bow is wrapped in dark buckskin and trimmed with buckskin
braid and elk horn buttons ready to hang in your Den, Office or that special
space you have saved for the wild wild west. Imitation Eagle feathers
hang at each end of the bow for power and freedom of the highest flier
in the sky. The length of the bow is 45", the quiver is 28"
by 5-1/2". Due to the hand made nature of our artifacts, slight variations
may occur from piece to piece.
DREAMS COME TRUE * ENDURANCE * BRAVERY
Chief Plenty Coups of the Crow talked about the need for a warrior to
use "both hands and arms together - at once" for the most efficient
use of this weapon. When the Indians had these bows and the white man
had single - shot rifles, the Indians had superior firepower. They could
fire four arrows before the first one reached its mark.
